Wounded - About

Wounded

We now step down and away from the previous overview, as our journey begins, and enter a dark and haunted landscape of human suffering and deprivation. The images we see here are common throughout human civilization but are especially present and intense in our larger cities. With reluctant feet we walk among, and hurry past, the sights and sounds of society’s forgotten ones – the injured, the hungered, the disillusioned, the aimless, the homeless, the hopeless, the lonely, and the unloved. They are all before us, staring at us, desperate for our compassion as they hungrily await our response, and, for a brief moment, we see ourselves in them. And their cries in the night shake us and unravel our souls, for they are the cries of the helpless – the cries of the Wounded.
